How to Wash Hemp
Do not use bleach! The bags will turn white.
Spot washing is recommended for isolated stains.
It is best to hand-wash the bag using a bucket of water and bleach-free soap.
- Rinse the soap out really well. Residual soap can leave cellulose, which oxidizes and leaves large brown spots on hemp.
For longest life, air dry or line-dry the bags in the sun. That being said, drying the bag in the hot afternoon sun too long will cause it to shrink a little, so consider drying it in the morning or late afternoon.
Hemp gets softer while still remaining strong the more you wash it.
